The Foundation has 2 major committees, Grants and Fundraising.
The Grants Committee is responsible for soliciting grant requests from teachers and staff, evaluating the merits of those requests and making funding recommendations to the full Board.
The Fundraising Committee is responsible for the annual fundraiser – The Evening in Support of Excellence, which takes place in January. This large function, held in January at the Shops at Worthington Place, is the primary fundraising effort for the WEF. All trustees play a role in this event. We also rely on the help from non-trustees to make the event a success.
As an Ohio non-profit, the Foundation is governed by Articles of Incorporation and a Code of Regulations. It is also required to file tax and financial information with the Ohio Attorney General Charitable Law Section and the Internal Revenue Service. The trustees meet regularly to discuss the Foundation’s business and approve new grant proposals.
